Style Guru Bio: Jessica Cecere

Hello, fellow Fashionistas! I'm Jessica, and I am a junior at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. I have been a loving fan of all-things fashion for as long as I can remember. As a young girl, I would spend hours in my mother's closet playing dress-up with her high-heels and many accessories. Being raised in a suburb of New York City, I have gained much of my fashion inspiration from the styles I've seen on the streets of the Big Apple. As a Style Guru for GWU, I will be using the love for fashion that I've developed in NYC to bring you, my fellow Fashionistas, glimpses of the incredible fashions that I see on the streets of my campus every day.

If asked, I'd describe my personal style as being feminine with a slight edge. Well-tailored garments are a personal must-have (I just can't get enough!), and I really love the combination of expert, sometimes geometric, tailoring with loose, flowing fabrics. Because I am an avid equestrian, I also have a sweet spot for most equestrian-themed styles. My favorite fashion labels include Elizabeth and James, Kimberly Ovitz, Rag & Bone, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Ralph Lauren (if his designs don't perfectly depict American-elegance, I don't know whose do)…just to name a few. I also, much like many of you I'm sure, am totally mesmerized by Karl Lagerfeld and his work.

Some final fun facts about me: 1) In addition to my textbooks and binders, you will always find at least one fashion magazine with me daily. 2) I hope to one day have the pleasure of meeting Rachel Zoe and Anna Wintour (in no specific order). 3) When I grow up, I hope to be an incredible and fearless woman who sports a Chanel suit and Christian Louboutin heels.

And, finally, my favorite (and most useful) fashion tip: Add a fabulous accessory, especially a statement necklace or cocktail ring, to any outfit to completely re-vamp the look from dull to va-va-voom.
