My name is Joycelyn Dempsey, and I have a severe obsession with fashion. This is the summer before my junior year at Hofstra University as a public relations major and fine arts minor. Not only do I love fashion, I love poetry, traveling and music. It may be weird to say this, but I love to see forms of expression. Whether it be through dancing, singing, drawing, writing or even fashion, everyone has something to say and I love to see how they choose to say it. Beginning from my grungy tomboy days, to my mashed up closet today, I have always used my style as a form of expression.
My style is very scattered and can’t really be confined to a label. I am very much a “wear what I like” kind of gal. I have splashes of urban, girly, vintage, trendy and a jumble of everything else. That’s kind of how I see style as being. Sure everyone could own the latest trend, but how you wear it defines your personal style. Individuality is key to me, and that’s what is going to draw me to my Fashionistos this summer.
I am absolutely stoked to be a Style Guru for this summer! Street style is a great way to find inspiration. So I hope to inspire some of you guys out there through the different styles and trends I bring to you this summer.
