It wasn't until my last years of high school that I discovered my inner Fashionista. I later decided to pursue a career in the fashion industry; a place where boundaries are nothing more than suggestions. This fall I will be starting my junior year at Baruch College, where I am majoring in Communications and minoring in Psychology and New York City studies. In the past, I’ve dabbled in the entertainment industry, as a photography intern, and in retail, where I saw how energetic and powerful fashion can be. This semester I will be a social media intern for Bollare Communications and, of course, a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista.
I am looking forward to sharing the personal styles of some of the many Fashionistas and Fashionistos at my college on CollegeFashionista. Because Baruch is mostly a commuter college- many students working and interning in addition to taking classes- students are often dressed up rather than dressed down. As a Style Guru, I want to document the stylish-yet-practical ensembles that I see everyday and to inspire creativity in busy students — especially those who resort to sweatpants a little too often.
You can often find me in neutral-toned basics, like a black blazer over a white blouse and dark denim jeans. I also try to incorporate details, like studs and lace, to elevate the overall look. I love a pop of metallic or print; rose gold accents are my current obsession. Some of my favorite places to shop are Zara, H&M and Club Monaco, but I also love scouring for deals at Marshalls, T.J. Maxx and various thrift stores. To be honest, my interest in fashion is trumped (just slightly) by my love for beauty, so my makeup routine sometimes cuts into my styling time. To focus my beauty (and occasionally fashion and lifestyle) musings, I turn to my blog, AngelicBetrayal.
That's it about me for now — join me every Wednesday as I uncover a new Fashionista/o this upcoming semester!
