Style Guru Bio: Scott Dobbin

I'm excited to continue to cover street fashion in its purest form and photograph Fashionista/os who create underrepresented outfits daily. Last semester allowed me to see a larger variety of styles and convinced me to add more variety to my wardrobe. Last semester also showed me the importance of journalistic writing so I've switched from a Communications and English double major to a Journalism major — and I couldn't be happier. I've recently fallen in love with military style clothing because of its regal yet rugged appearance. Oxfords are a must in any man's wardrobe, and I'm constantly thinking of ways to add some spice to mine. I also can't stress enough the importance of finding a good fit for your jeans. Jeans are such a staple and everyone owns a pair. However, not everyone owns a well-fitting pair. My style is still influenced by quirky things such as: tokidoki keychains and vintage infinity scarves to add some fun to classic garments. I'm a hip-hop dancer and I seriously cannot get enough of how original and functional the other dancers always are. I'm constantly asking other dancers what has influenced their style and I see if I can find a way to incorporate some of that into my wardrobe.

This semester I'll continue to write LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS and continue to look for outfits that show individuality in a subtle way. Last semester was unusually warm so hopefully this year, Fashionistos will get an opportunity to dust off their nice winter peacoats, scarves and boots. It's a new year and I'm happy I get to watch the way street style changes from semester to semester.
