My name is Cate and I'm a junior majoring in Photojournalism and minoring in Spanish at Boston University. I'm originally from Trinidad and Tobago and being in New England has given me a completely different perspective on fashion.
I love photography and fashion passionately, and being with CollegeFashionista has given me the amazing opportunity to combine fashion, photography and journalism all in one place. It's hard to believe that this is my fourth semester blogging with CollegeFashionista, and it's been an amazing journey learning about the fashion world and improving my photography. Working with CollegeFashionista has inspired me to actively participate in the fashion world and has given me the confidence to branch out with my writing and photography. Because of CF, I now write for the fashion column at the Quad.
When I'm not scouting for great style on campus, I author my own blog, inkblot*photogrpahy , posting editorials and other photographs that inspire me as well as articles on issues in the fashion world that interest me. One of the reasons that I love fashion so much is because I recognize it as a sincerely pure form of artistry. I love the feeling I get when my breath catches if I see a stunning or captivating image. I have big goals for myself within the fashion industry and I feel privileged that CollegeFashionista is giving me the opportunity to foster my talents in photography and journalism so that I am better equipped to step right into the industry after graduation.
This semester, I'm excited to be part of a new feature called Fashionista Spotlight. There are so many fashion conscious students on BU's campus, and I can't wait to bring each of their individual and unique personal styles to the greater fashion community. Boston stands out as a city with thousands of incredibly chic students, and it will be an amazing experience to interact with and learn from each of our very own Fashionstas and Fashionistos.
