Style Guru Bio: Charisma Thapa

My name is Charisma Thapa and I am a sophomore at Michigan State University majoring in Urban and Regional Planning.

I am a fashion enthusiast. One of the reasons that I love fashion is because it speaks and can be used as a means of self-expression as it accommodates the chameleon that is found in all of us. Through fashion we are able to celebrate the diversity and variety of the world that we all live in. My fashion is constantly changing and I get fashion ideas from anyone. If I were to pick my fashion idols they would be Mary Kate Olsen; I love her boho chic look, the glam of Beyoncé, the simple elegance of Anne Hathaway and there’s nothing better than the classic “Cosby” sweater. Some of my favorite brands are BCBG, Free People and practically anything from Forever 21. Although I do have an appreciation for the high-end brands you can usually find me shopping in local second-hand and thrift-stores. Regarding my personal style I really like paisley patterns, pops of color in outfits and mixing vintage pieces with more up to date fashion making sure the look is also overall versatile as well as comfortable.
I also love skirts, dresses and have a huge obsession with scarves.  With my other time, when I’m not obsessing about fashion I enjoy any kind of dance, my favorite being ballet, shopping, traveling, being with my best friends, and my lovely family. I am super excited for this opportunity to intern with CollegeFashionista, and hope that through this I am able to inspire and learn from fellow fashionistas not only on Michigan State campus, but around the world!
