As a first time Style Guru, I am very excited and honored to be writing for CollegeFashionista. I am an incoming senior at Syracuse University, an advertising major in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication, with an English minor and a concentration in The Fashion and Beauty Communications Milestone. I have a passion for writing, and a desire to work in the fashion industry after college.
My past experience includes an internship in summer 2009 at Liz Claiborne Incorporated. As the Corporate Marketing intern, I worked with brands including Kate Spade, Juicy Couture, and Lucky Brand, amongst many others. I enjoyed working on photo shoots shot for various promotional pieces, gaining hands-on experience in styling, and spending time in show rooms and brand development.
I spent the past 4 months studying in London for the spring semester of my junior year, and it was truly an experience I'll never forget. Studying communications and embracing a culture new to me, while absorbing fashion and the arts in an unfamiliar city, changed me in great ways and has helped opened my eyes to the world. I have gained a more ambitious, spontaneous, and eager mindset, and I would love to continue to travel and exploring other walks of life — and of course, observing style.
I look forward to bringing my own personal opinions to College Fashionista, which will hopefully be both helpful and influential to others, and to slowly becoming addicted to this amazing blog all summer.
