To wrap up November, CollegeFashionista has teamed up with global fashion brand Superdry USA to showcase how a female Style Guru and a male Style Guru both wear the same varsity jacket. Here at CollegeFashionista we love the influence of menswear-inspired fashion for trendsetting Fashionistas, and today's editorial showcases the overlap between a menswear piece and how it can be worn in a feminine way.
Style Guru, Lydia O'Connor from USC, shares with us her tips on wearing the featured jacket and Superdry Blue Skinny Jean:
“In an timeless baseball jacket like this, I like to keep things classic collegiate and old-school preppy with a plaid flannel and warm circle scarf, and these dark-wash skinny jeans are perfect to layer under chunky socks and lace-up leather boots.”
Style Guru, Patrick Butchner from GWU, shares with us his tips on wearing the featured jacket and Superdry Standard Blue Jean:
“This is a jacket you can wear with anything – you can create any sort of style by the way you wear it. You can dress it up at night with slacks or dark jeans and when Monday rolls around it's the perfect campus jacket.”
Just as CollegeFashionista has our Style Gurus scouring the streets of campus as our brand ambassadors, global fashion brand Superdry USA launched a Facebook initiative to engage socially savvy, trendsetting juniors and seniors to join Superdry University on Facebook and compete virally to become Superdry's brand ambassadors. As the face of Superdry USA on campus, the winners will receive $1,000 of Superdry's latest clothing, a $500 payment and a chance to compete for a potential position within the company upon graduation! The ambassadors will be responsible for spreading the Superdry message on campus, participating in both local and campus events, and blogging about campus street style. Students can apply through December 31st by liking Superdry USA's Facebook page and entering through the Superdry University tab.
Superdry University is accepting applicants from 13 universities across the United States including: Boston University, George Washington University, Georgetown University, Northwestern University, New York University, Rutgers University, Stanford University, University of California – Berkley, University of California – Los Angeles, University of Minnesota – Duluth, University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, University of Nevada – Las Vegas and University of Southern California. Two winners will be selected at each participating campus.
