Girls’ Brunch Out

Whether you went to bed early and made it to 9 a.m. yoga or stayed out late the night before, brunch on Saturday morning with eggs, pancakes, and mimosas are necessary.

In New York City, it is the one meal that rules them all—which means your look should rule, too. It can be challenging to put together the perfect outfit that looks fabulous yet effortless. Here are three different summer outfits that will make your brunch egg-stra special!

1—Boho prints. Brunch was practically invented so you could have fun so why not experiment with some prints? Sara wears a flowy, printed dress that gives off a casual vibe paired with neutral color-block wedges. She gave the look a bit of edge with a silver jewelry, including a long layered necklace, teardrop earrings and a combination of large and small rings. This unexpected brunch look will make the people at the table next to you do a double take!

2—Bold yet functional. If you want something on trend but also comfy enough to hide the food baby you are about to get from all the pancakes, a jumpsuit is the way to go! This bold red one is a showstopper for the girl that wants to stand out. Paired with nude wedges and a tan floppy hat, this look gives you instant glam to sip those mimosas. Pick one you love and prepare yourself for compliments!

3—Soft florals. Florals for spring? Groundbreaking. Florals for summer? On point. This floral sundress is girly and almost as sweet as the french toast on the table. The cap sleeve and the button-down front add subtle details that go a long way. With natural face makeup and a pair of shades, it will take you no more than 10 minutes to get ready for brunch with the squad.

The Everyday Statement Purse

Who says that your everyday purse has to be a solid color or just plain black? Exactly, so my everyday purse I have been wearing has a combination of red, green, and black. It sort of has an Aztec print on the strap that I usually don’t go for, but the style and color of the purse made me fall in love with it. The reason I like the colors so much is probably that they are the Gucci colors and anything that reminds me of them needs to be in my closet immediately.

So with this purse, I paired the classic Air Force Ones, which are a must in everyone’s closet. You can definitely class it up by wearing a dress with them or exactly how I wore it in this look. I also wore these two-tone jeans, inspired by Vetements, from H&M for only $10! I was the happiest girl around when I swiped my card and the cashier gave me the shopping bag. I walked out of the store feeling like I just conquered the world! Don’t you also feel that way when you snagged an amazing deal? Then last but not least, I wore this nude mesh bustier top from the Zara sale with a basic white T-shirt underneath.

I definitely like how this overall look gives off neutral color-blocking vibes (except the purse, obviously.) So I dare you to go out and get an everyday statement purse, or even just a cool strap to add to your existing black purses, even if it’s out of your comfort zone. A majority of the times I try a new style, I end up loving it!

How-To—Add a Pop to Your Summer Wardrobe

What fun is summer without a pop of color every now and then? Summer is the perfect excuse to pull out all of your bright clothing and to add sunglasses to every outfit. That is exactly what I did for this look, with one of the best brands for summer, Lilly Pulitzer!

This look can be perfect for a variety of summer events. From graduation parties to evenings out to dinner, cute and casual looks like this one are great!

For this look, I am wearing a few of my favorite brands. Lilly Pulitzer is perfect for summer with the bright patterns. Since the shorts I am wearing are so busy, I paired them with a basic white tank. The shorts and tank top go perfectly with my number one go-to shoes, Tory Burch leather sandals. I love these sandals because they are simple, yet very stylish and match almost everything. Of course, I always have to add in a few of my favorite accessories, my Michael Kors watch and my favorite pair of Ray-Bans.

A good tip for wearing bright and busy clothing is to pair it with something not so busy.  Wearing bright patterned shorts with a bright patterned top could create a wild look, but pairing busy with basic is exactly what I did for this outfit, and, as always, accessorize!

Any time of the year, it is important to have accessories to give any outfit the finishing touch it needs. I add a watch to almost every outfit I wear, because it is simple but adds a pretty and classy look to any outfit. Sunglasses are one of my favorite accessories, whether they are on your face, on top of your head holding your hair back, or clipped to your shirt, they add the perfect summer feel to an outfit.

5 Things You Need in Your Closet This Season to Do Summer Like a Fashionista

We just passed the longest day of the year and summer is coming to the halfway point. In honor of us moving into the new month of July, I’ve put together five trendy pieces that every Fashionista/o needs for a stylish summer.

1—Overalls. Overalls are not just for farm kids anymore; these denim dungarees are amazing to own because they are versatile enough to fit anyone’s style. While you might not want to wear these when the weather gets too hot to handle, they’re perfect for cooler days or for when the temperatures drop at night. I like to pair mine with a tight crop top to balance out the boyfriend style bottoms.

2—Printed Pants. I am seriously in love with these leopard print pants. They are super high waisted and comfortable enough to be pajamas, but you can easily dress them up and wear them out as well. In the fall, these will be perfect to slip on and wear to class. Plus, they will make you look like you tried harder in the morning than you actually did. I am definitely going to buy a few more pairs in some different prints.

3—Band T-shirt. Band T-shirts always have been and always will be in style. This one was my brother’s that he got at a Black Keys concert we went to a few years back. My advice is to splurge on a band you actually like, instead of just choosing the first Rolling Stones T-shirt you find (unless you’re like, a die-hard Stones fan, in which case this is a super cute one!) It makes it more personal and it can be a conversation starter for someone with the same taste in music.

4—Fun Jacket. In my opinion, everyone needs a party jacket in their closet. A denim jacket is perfect for taking your day outfit into the chilly nighttime. This oversized jacket gives off major throwback vibes and feels fresh out of the ‘80s. I bought this coat at Goodwill and spruced it up by bleaching it in certain spots. If you’re not a person who loves to DIY, try this similar acid wash jacket.

5—Versatile Shoes. Everyone needs a pair of shoes that could easily be dressed up or down. They could be booties, sandals, or some casual heels. I got these Steve Madden booties at Saks Off 5th and they are my new obsession. The heels are low enough that I can walk around in them all day and they don’t make my feet feel like they’re going to fall off, but they’re fancy enough to wear out to a nice dinner. They’ll also be an easy transition into fall, maybe even winter with some socks.

The Ultimate List of Trends for Summer 2017

Welcoming the summer can be quite overwhelming, especially when you want to fit in the summer trends for this year. I am one of those that is absolutely crazy about fashion. Sometimes, not always, I like to do as much research as I can to find the newest summer trends and styles, so I can put it in my everyday life. Luckily, you don’t need expensive outfits to look fashionable. I decided to put together three looks coming from my wardrobe to make you look modern without wasting a single dollar.

1—Street style. A night out with your friends can never hurt, except when there’s an overwhelming feeling of not knowing what to wear. I put together my mother’s long sleeve shirt making you look classic, well put together, with a nice simple print. All I did was reverse the shirt and since it has long sleeves I made a little knot around my waist making the shirt steal the whole look while having an open back.

2—Chic style. The miniskirt is a holy grail of summer trends. I decided, to wear this mini-skirt with a simple T-shirt and made my heels make the statement out of my entire outfit. Although, you can always change what statement you want to stand out more.

3—Romantic style. A romantic date night does not happen so often. But when it does, us girls want to make the most out of it. To me, it is another way I can express myself in a matter of seconds. Bringing out the wide leg pants summer trend to not only make me feel chic, elegant, tall and romantic but the very feeling of being comfortable at the same time!

5 Ways to Rock Statement Pants

So you bought those cool new pants with an interesting print, but have no idea how to wear them. Statement bottoms are my favorite underrated trend of the season, and in this article, I’ve put together five easy ways to style them!

1—Boho Look. Be cool and carefree with this summer look. These pants are made of up-cycled silk from India and are more comfortable than pajama pants. The trick to making pants like these part of a polished look is to use the right accessories. Try some chunky heels, a long necklace, and a wide brim hat.

2—Work Look. Don’t let your work wardrobe dull your sparkle! Instead, stand out from the rest. This look is perfect for your summer job or internship. Wearing something bold, such as these green pants, will spark conversations with co-workers and leave a memorable impression.

3—Prints on Prints. For an unexpected but chic look, try mixing prints. My advice is to mix two very different prints. For example, try a pair of shorts with a small print and a top with a large print. It might seem overwhelming, but adding a solid colored jacket on top will balance it out.

4—Vintage Look. This look features a retro style culotte with a simple mock turtleneck top. Try adding some vintage accessories to your look, such as this mother of pearl necklace I found at a local antique shop. Thrifting for vintage pieces is a great way to find something unique and shrink your carbon footprint on the environment.

5—When in Doubt, Keep it Simple. The easiest way to rock a statement pant is to let it shine. Try a plain T-shirt, lightweight chambray shirt, or faux leather jacket. Go with your intuition and wear what makes you feel confident!

The One Thing Every Girl Needs in Her Closet

We all have those days when we wake up late and scramble to find a decent looking outfit for school or work. Or when we look through our closet full of clothes, yet, just don’t feel anything that’s in there. There are even days when we want to look dressed, but don’t want to wear a skirt, dress or pair of heels.

I have realized that in the midst of these days, there is hope. There is a cure for the days when you are battling between laziness and fashionable and that is a pair of printed bottoms.

I have always been a fan of printed bottoms and a plain top—and that is for any event. This duo can work for comfy/casual days where you just want to throw on a pair of sneakers. It could also go for a night when you want to go out to a party. A pair of floral bottoms along with a plain, black top is always a go-to. Or ever go out on a Friday or Saturday night and have work the next morning? Or are you running a little late for the office so you need to quickly throw something on? Black and white have always been the way to go for professional attire and this can work with your printed bottoms as well. Dark printed bottoms along with a white top are perfect for any day at work and of course, is so easy to pair up and throw on. You can wear simple flats or sandals and if the job requires something more professional, heels can easily be added and upgrade the outfit.

Of course, there are different patterns that best suit different occasions, but overall printed bottoms can save your day, no matter what the situation is. A rule of thumb I would definitely go by is to stick with simple, black and white patterns for work (if your job can be stick on attire) and every other pattern for school, a party or event. But wherever you are going, there is a pair of bottoms for you.

So rack up! Whenever you go to the store, always be up for a pair of printed bottoms because we all know we will encounter a day when outfits just aren’t working out for us. And when our wonderful, printed bottoms save our lives for the day, let our Fashionista/o know in the comments below.

Where were you going? What pattern did your bottoms have? Where did you get them? And how was your life saved for the day? We all want to know!

Put It Together Simply: A Girl’s Summer Outfit Survival Guide

Being a Seattle person, I often find myself trying to figure out how to best layer during the colder winter months. A lot of people often think that I spent a lot of time putting my outfit together for the day. In reality, I only had to put on one really cute piece that makes the overall look stand out.

Summer is definitely my favorite season because it is the perfect time to throw on some really simple, easy, and breezy pieces and call it a day. Here is the first of my summer outfit survival guide.

I am a huge fan of rompers because all you have to do is slip it on and you are totally dressed from top to bottom. Today was no exception. Because this romper has a floral print, I did not want to go too crazy on the accessories.

To keep it simple, I chose to wear my favorite white mules that will complement the white floral print on my romper, really simple silver earrings, and a choker. These shoes are great because they are flat and comfortable enough for walking all day long. I think these will be my summer staple since they are so easy to slip in and out of, and they basically go with every outfit.

Lastly, to protect my eyes from the sun, I picked up my favorite classic black sunglasses to complete the look.

This outfit is perfect for a summer day out for brunch, lunch, or even for a warm night out. I chose to wear this to a mall with my friend on this warm day and got a lot of compliments.

I look forward to showing more different sides of myself through my style and sharing how easy it is to put together a really cute outfit using minimalistic pieces.

Cheetah Is the New Black

Cheetah print is a trend that is hot right now. That’s right, you heard me. Adding this fun pattern into any outfit is the easiest way to revamp your look and closet! Whether it might be in some pumps, jacket, or sunglasses, a girl can conquer the world when she has some cheetah print. I’m here to tell you why this trend is one you need to pounce on this summer and how to get it while it’s hot.

This animal print is not only fashionable and on-trend, but it is chic! Even though you might be a lover of all things black, a pop of cheetah can transform a bland outfit into a striking modern look. Why is this the trend that everyone needs in their life you might ask? I like to stand by the fact that if a women is well dressed and chic, her clothes and style will speak for themselves. Cheetah print is the way to accomplish that this season.

My favorite way to channel the inner cheetah girl in all of us is by these ways. You can never go wrong with a cheetah top or tank. It is the quickest and most effortless way to stay cool and on-trend this summer. All you have to do is throw it on with your favorite boyfriend jeans, some sandals, paired with a messy bun, and you have an instant Insta-worthy outfit. Have a job or internship interview coming up this summer? This cheetah print jacket will be the perfect way to make you look perfectly put together. If you are wanting to kick back with the girls, this bomber jacket is cute, comfy, and chic. But if you are wanting to take baby steps to the wild side some cheetah print sunglasses, clutch, or booties is the perfect way to go.

Although black will always have a special place in one’s hearts, it might be time to make room in the hearts and closets for cheetah print. So, what are you waiting for?

These Are the Top Trends of Summer 17′

With summer 2017 in full swing, now is your chance to amp up your summer wardrobe and kiss your chunky sweaters and scarves goodbye! With school finally coming to an end, spicing up your wardrobe is a must. You can finally put some extra thought into your clothing choices instead of rushing off to class with coffee stains dribbling down your T-shirt (don’t worry, we’re all guilty of this). Summer is all about experimenting and having fun! So why not take a risk, get out of your comfort zone, and try rocking some of these five trends for the summer!

1. Cactus Prints—Yeah, you read that correctly. Ditch your striped or polka dot tees and trade them in for a cactus print! This quirky trend is totally in for summer 2017 and gives a unique twist to the basic prints that everyone else owns. The compliments will come pouring in, trust me!

2. Bandanas—Whether they be wrapped around your head, waist, or neck (like I am wearing), bandanas are this summer’s must-have accessory! They come in a variety of colors making them an accessory you can add to literally any outfit. Not only are bandanas one of the most versatile accessories ever, they are also super affordable!

3. Off-The-Shoulder Tops—We all know that summer means going to the beach! Off-the-shoulder tops are perfect for showing off your freshly tanned shoulders or your accumulation of freckles after a long day soaking up the sun. Either way, off-the-shoulder tops add a unique twist to a typical summer top and make it easy to show off your sun kissed skin.

4. Mules—This funky style of shoe is definitely something every Fashionista needs this summer! This type of shoe is not only extremely comfortable and stylish; It is also perfect for showing off your much needed summer pedicure because of the added peep toe! If you are feeling daring and extra trendy, go for a mule that is brightly colored like yellow, pink, or orange instead of something neutral.

5. Bell Sleeves—Big, billowy bell sleeves are the last trend worth rocking this summer. Not only will these airy sleeves keep you cool in the heat, but they also spice up outfits by giving off a super cool ’70s vibe.

With all of that said, summer is only a few short months. Therefore, you have to live up these five summer trends while they last. Who knows if these trends will be back next year, so why not break out of your shell and give a couple or all of them a try!
