Out of all the areas of Japanese fashion, the college-aged boys were by far the most impressive. They showed a strong interest in trends and wearing the “it” designer labels. I saw the familiar heart and eye logo of Comme des Garcons on a vast amount of boys and found that shocking as most college males in the US have no clue who this inspirational designer is.
The boys of Tokyo often don harem pants and well-tailored garments to show off their slender frames. And their hair- long, highlighted and eccentric. During my trip to Tokyo I often hung around Harajuku which was a street-style bloggers paradise. Literally lined along the benches and leaned up against alley ways were these fashions savvy boys, as if waiting for a model casting call and looking way too chic.
