TREND: Accessories Keep Winter Fresh

It is the University of Rhode Island's first week of classes, and on top of trying to learn our new schedule and find our classes, it has been snowing all day. Amongst the unshovled sidwalks and cautious walking students, this Fashionista popped out with her nautical printed scarf. Tying the classic print into her outfit instantly brightened up her look and gave a refreshing twist to the nautical stripe, which is usually sported on t-shirts. She wore her long winter coat, striped scarf and paired her UGGs with knit inserts. Wearing winter accessories in an effortless way, this Fashionista kept warm while looking cute.

A long winter coat is almost essential around this time of year because it is your safest bet to stay warm while trucking it across campus. Wearing a flattering style that cinched at the waist, she demonstrated a laid back look leaving it unzipped. The khaki fabric paired with the subtle faux fur kept the vibe relaxed and the look can be achieved with this Hooded Winter Trench Coat. This year, fleece inserts are very popular for rainboots, making them suitable for both the rain and snow. However, this Fashionista chose to wear charcoal gray sweater knit inserts with her UGGs for extra warmth. An easy way to jazz up boots would be to try some fleece inserts with a faux fur cheetah pattern like these "Welly" Cuff Socks. The best way to keep a balance with winter accessories is to stick to solid colored essentails like coats and boots. Then, add patterns with more easily substitued accessories like scarves, gloves, hats, etc.

Keeping up with popular trends, this Fashionista wears an infinity scarf perfectly paired with her navy blue coat. You can score a similar scarf here or opt for another bold pattern. Another way to give a casual laid back vibe a little edge and keep warm would be to try a turban styled headband. If you are like me and fear clashing colors with your hair, pick a neutral color, and opt for a brightly colored scarf. However, if this is not the case, try a bright color like this striking "fresh mint". Depending on what accessory you want to pop, check out the variety of infinity scarfs that American Apparel has to offer. With so many options to keep warm in the winter, there's no excuse not to stylishly do so!

Hint: When choosing a winter accessory such as a scarf or hat with a pattern, remember to keep it simple. Unless you are opting for a mixed pattered look, it is best to choose one bold print to focus on like this Fashionista did. Her nautical striped scarf may have seemed ordinary on the hanger, but paired with her solid colored attire it really popped and became a statement piece. Try the look with a similar scarf or a one with an animal print.

Now that you're back on campus and enjoying the last days of great summer weather before the notorious Boston cold sets in, it's a great time to start transitioning your wardobe into great fall ensembles. The summer season may be ending, but it doesn't mean you have to completely abandon those great summer finds.

This Fashionista did a great job of mixing her summer and fall fashions. Instead of wearing an regular summer dress, she wore a three-quarter sundress which conveniently allowed her to combine the ease of movement  of the summer, with the fashion forward style of the fall. Topped off the just the right accessories, her look helped her stand out from the crowd.

To get her look, try pairing a fun floral sundress with a denim jacket to avoid those fall drafts. Add some fun jeweled sandals and top it all off with a flirty watch in fun colours. When all is said and done, you'll be able to start the new semseter knowing that you'll make a fashion fabulous first impression.

While it can be a challenge to find a stylish to assert your authority behind the grill without raising a giggle, you can't go wrong with classic summer styles to keep you cool underneath.

Most women shy away from showing some skin in summer. This is a big mistake. Summer is all about having some fun in the sun. Our Fashionista definitely knows how to deal with it, exhibiting a long sleeve beige shirt that apparently takes on some of the attributes of the stronger warm or cool colors it accompanies, like that floral black and white skirt. They are a huge sensation this year and not only for school girls. This print was once considered to be old fashioned however it has made a huge comeback this year. And to top it off her avant-garde style, black heels are the code to make it happens.Since years ago barbecue summer' may have been something of a washout, but no anymore!!! signs became strong this year. Men and women want to look their best when hosting a social barbecue event in their garden, or attending one with friends. TREND: Keeping Cool

If you have ever been to one of the many music festivals that occur during the summer in Minnesota, you know it gets hot and humid! What better way to keep the sun off your face than an adorable fedora? Clearly this Fashionista knew how to avoid the heat and look fabulous at the same time by sporting her own striped fedora. Throwing on a pair of oversized shades will also help block the strong sun and keep you cool! You can wear a fedora with almost anything, but try a cute sundress or a plaid top and cuffed jean shorts like this Fashionista. The bandeau she is wearing is a wonderful way to pull together an ensemble and the lace on it added a great feminine feel to the outfit. If you ever have a low cut shirt that your mother may not find appropriate you can always throw on a bandeau to cover up a bit and add some color to your outfit! TREND: Incorporating Basics

For College Fashionistas, scoring great clothes on a student friendly budget is essential. To save money, Fashionistas can shop at trendy stores with bargain prices like Forever21, H&M and Topshop. Another way to curb excessive spending is to invest in basic pieces that will be able to transition through different occasions and seasons with ease. Adding a new accessory or a different shoe to a basic piece can radically alter a Fashionista’s image and allow her to create a whole new look.

On her way to class, this Fashionista keeps her look simple. Accessorizing with a black leather tote, simple flip flops, a wristwatch, and a high wasted belt, she epitomizes the look of a college student in a laid back and chic way. Her black tunic is a great, versatile piece that works well with this outfit and could also be worn for a night on the town or a day spent rocking out at a music festival.

To transition into the evening, I suggest pairing this black tunic with skinny jeans and a pair of chunky wedges, accessorizing with a black studded clutch and gold cutout earrings
For casual concert style, try adding embellished sandals, distressed denim shorts, and a funky headband.

Pieces like this tunic are the building blocks to a flexible wardrobe. You'll be able to wear them for many seasons, and they can be easily updated by adding trendy accessories.

TREND: Sexy Summer Dress With An Edgy Twist

The summer season brings with it hopes for tanning by the pool, ice cold glasses of lemonade and fishing out your favorite pair of sunglasses to help block the sun. But if you live in North Carolina, summers can be scorching hot, which can make it difficult– and a huge pain– to maintain a stylish outfit. This Fashionista, however, knows how to stay cool during those long sunny days when it seems almost impossible to find anything comfortable to wear.

Whether you're going out to lunch with your friends or you're having a girls night out, this outfit captures the perfect summer look and is guaranteed to exude an energetic aura for anyone who wears it. The eye-catching, edgy pattern of the dress will not only turn heads, but will also create a fresh new appearance for this simple, bubble dress look.

Although any white dress compliments a Fashionista's natural summer tan, this one in particular uses the vibrant tones found in the cheerful atmosphere of the season to further accentuate this Fashionista's warm, summer glow. Another plus of this edgy dress is that it absorbs less heat than a darker colored dress would, making it a must have to combat those sultry summer rays!

This breezy dress is a perfect way to stay cool without having to put much effort into the overall look. Because of the already sexy silhouette of this bubble dress and the fun pattern, you don't need to worry about accessorizing. You can let the dress speak for itself. This glamorous Fashionista keeps it clean by just adding a belt and sunglasses to keep it shady.

If you're looking for a simple, strapless dress, then check out this dress from Francesa's Collections, which is available in coral, citrus green and white. To accessorize this ocean cool look, add some playful, multi-colored earrings or this Art Gallery Necklace. The vibrant hues of the necklace make for a bold statement piece, which adds a zealous energy to any summer ensemble.

But if you're a little more daring like this Fashionista, then try this bubble dress to show off your sun-kissed tan at the next big party of the summer!

TREND: Ahoy

Its summer time, you know what that means: the beach, the water and of course the sun! I'm sure all you Fashionista/os are planning on blasting Katy Perry's "California Gurls" and heading down to the beach or your nearest pool to soak up some rays of delicious sunshine. This post is inspired by my love for this season because why should our water inspired fun stop when we leave the water? (that's right–it shouldn't!) So anchors away and brush that sand off of your sailor inspired attire. Sailor and/or navy inspired styles are perfect for fun in the sun and to look your absolute cutest.

This Fashionista was spotted walking out of the Grill in downtown Tucson wearing adorable high-waisted sailor shorts and her nautical inspired shoes. The buttons on her shorts are embossed with golden anchors (WANT!). She told me she found these shorts at Forever 21 and there was a matching skirt (for those of you who hate to wear shorts). I recommend checking this out and making sure Polly gets his cracker.

TREND: A Splash of Color Without Draining Your Budget

Hey Fashionistas interns! Trading in your "jorts" (read: jean shorts) and Sperry's for a more professional wardrobe doesn't mean you have to bore or break bank! Show your no-nonsense dedication with neutral tones and sleek, conservative, lines, but show personality with a colored accessory. Remember to keep these elements appropriate, most of you are not working at Samantha Jones' PR firm! If you are unsure about your newest work-wear, go ahead and ask your boss. They will appreciate that you cared enough to check-in before you sported a dress-code don't!

This Fashionista shows how to dress for success (sans excess) in a white keyhole mock-turtleneck from Express, a black pencil skirt from H&M, embellished summer sandals from Target, and a turquoise-beaded necklace from Kohl's. The blue hue complements her fiery-red hair and the modest cut-out detail adds just enough character. Not into the key-hole? Try a collared shirt with pocket-details, like this Express blouse. Sandals with a heel strap or cute flats are perfect for commuting interns with a long walk ahead of them. (If necessary, you can stow heels in a tote). For unpaid interns, it definitely does pay to grab these bargain buys during the summer season!
