As every good Libra knows, balance is the key to life. When it comes to fashion there’s no exception – when mixing colors or styles it’s all about keeping it even… and keeping it real.

Fashionista Shannon wears her coral cocktail look with an edgy biker jacket: the perfect balance of cute and chic. Start with a fun, girly slip dress and then toughen it up – a little leather never hurt anyone. Two other sleek looks? Try tailored leather skinnies with a sheer pink blouse, or ditch the jacket for a studded bag or ring (but never both at once).

A tiny Coach clutch is perfect for keeping your essentials close and your look streamlined. Dressing for day instead? Switch out the wristlet for a round satchel in the same style. Pick a platform heel that you want to show off – and get ready to put your best foot forward.

Hint: If spikes and studs aren’t your thing, try a tote with hardware that’s not too tough. Don’t worry about matching your metals – mixing metallics is an easy way to rock the edgy/polished look.

Bring on the biker brigades of leather, studs, and zippers. This is a trend that showcases how a woman can look soft and stern, while clutching her luxury bag.

Tough and chic describes this Fashionista's street-style look. Color coordinated in black and silver from head to toe, she sports accessories that complement her entire outfit. Her black hairpiece is embellished with silver crystals to match her black and silver bracelets. Her studded suede boots are reminiscent of motorcycle wear.

Her ensemble features a knitted, houndstooth, mini skirt that is readied for fall weather with a pair of black sheer tights. The print on the skirt stands out amongst her overall dark wardrobe palette. She keeps warm in a black, circle scarf, which is one of my favorite winter accessories, as well as a cropped wool blazer. My favorite part of course is her classic quilted Chanel handbag, which she so carefully evolved her entire look around.

Quite often the girls of Penn State University will pull out a luxury designer bag and wear it with the likes of UGGs and sweat pants. Not only are they disrespecting my eyes, but they are also disrespecting the fashion house behind the bag. It’s unfortunate to see a young lady who can afford the label but not the exquisite taste behind it.

So, I applaud this young lady for yet again braving the systematic approach to fashion at Penn State University. Coco and Karl would be just as proud of you as I am.

Today's Fashionista is ready to rock with her edgy, yet chic ensemble. Her black leather jacket is a slim fit, and is detailed with various zippers along the sleeves, cuffs, and body of the jacket. She has paired her leather jacket with black leggings and a bright green tank, adding an eccentric splash of color to her dark ensemble. Another element to note about this Fashionista's ensemble is her choice of shoes. Ankle boots are undeniably one of fall's favorite shoes and can be found in a variety of different styles. Today's Fashionista choose a pair of ankle boots that complimented her ensemble, adding a tough, yet femine touch to her biker-chic look. The zipper-teeth trim provides an edgy look to a classic vintage inspired ankle boot.

To get this look, try spicing up your fall wardrobe by matching some edgy items to your outfit. Although leather jackets can be a bit pricey, they are not going anywhere anytime soon and can be worn throughout multiple seasons.

Not only does it make any ho hum outfit instantly edgy and put together it also keeps you warm! Choose from real leather or faux depending on where your morals or budget lay and you will have a worthy investment for the rest of the season. The classic black motorcycle jacket this Fashionista has on is always a smart choice. Or pair a brown bomber jacket with soft florals or grey with your favorite striped hoodie for a slightly different twist.
