One of the things I love most about going out in Athens is that you can hit the streets looking as dressy or as casual as you desire. On any given night in Athens you will most likely see girls wearing anything from sultry, form fitting little black dresses to T-shirts and shorts. I personally don’t mind going for a grungier look downtown from time to time, but I always try to maintain a happy medium between laid back style and an over-the-top red carpet look, because Athens nightlife has a more laid back feel.

This week’s Fashionista is wearing a flawless ensemble for a night out with the girls. Her look is dressed up enough to go to any bar in the downtown area, but also has a coolly casual style that makes this Fashionista look fabulous without seeming like she slaved away to achieve this look. Pairing a simple gold-studded black tank with a cropped blazer and cutoff denim shorts, this Fashionista mixes feminine sex appeal with a slightly masculine vibe. Even though denim cutoffs can sometimes be overly casual, this Fashionista makes them more sophisticated by pairing them with an amazing pair of black patent leather wedges, funky mix and matched bangles, a bold oversized shoulder bag, and the blazer.

Blazers are one of my favorite types of jackets because they can be easily thrown on over dresses or tops to dress an outfit up or down. As the summer weather starts to slowly cool off, taking a light-weight blazer with you on a night out is a fantastic way to keep from getting cold on those chillier summer nights. Pair one with jeans and a simple tank for a daytime look, or with a mini shift dress for an elegant nighttime ensemble.
