TREND: Crazy for Camel

During the winter season, I usually spot the typical college student wearing a black Northface fleece or a Patagonia. Even though these jackets provide the necessary warmth, trying out a great pea coat or trench can provide an edge to your every day style. This Fashionista I spotted today wore a coat that provided two great trends. One trend I noticed was the long, wool trench coat. Second, and my favorite part, was the camel color.
Like the LBD (little black dress), coats come like this too. They are easy to find and always available in this same color. I love it when I spot a Fashionista breaking that norm by wearing a different color other than black. This trendsetter today makes a major statement with one of the hottest color trends this winter season. On such a cold day, this colored coat brings out warmth and a hint of the upcoming fashion season. She pairs it excellently with an oversized gray scarf and an equally neutral pair of oxfords. This Fashionista blends the perfect essentials from both winter and spring seasons.

Runways for the spring and summer seasons are all about minimalism. The camel color is an essential to this trend. Not only is it suiting for any skin tone but it also complements it as well. Try out a camel colored skirt like this one here from topshop.com for a dressier occasion. For a warm day, try out this fun dress from American Apparel. It will look great with a sweater thrown over and a fun pair of oxfords or any neutral-colored pair of flats.

TREND: Crazy for Camel

I have always been in love with wearing the colour camel. Okay, okay, maybe it’s because I have red hair and it’s one of the few complementary colours for those of us in my hair tribe, but I do honestly think there’s something about camel coats that is just so- classic. There’s a reason the camel coat has never gone out of style- it’s chic and sophisticated, yet there’s something warm and cozy about the hue that makes it such a desirable and pleasing garment. And while I would love to reserve this look for all my fellow goldilocks, I cannot deny the glowing effect the camel coat gives to every shade of hair. This Fashionista looks cute and edgy in her camel coat. Paired with a maroon skirt and black lace up Dr Martens, she proves the versatility of camel and shows off its playful side. What a better way to embrace the fall than to show off one of its primary colours?

Hint: For an elegant and cozy look, I adore Michael Kors’ camel wool toggle coat; for an edgier take on camel, IRO’s Mori suede jacket is camel-cool.

Style On,

Celeste
