Beautiful in Beijing

The second stop on my Asian adventure was Beijing. I couldn’t help but be awe struck by the ancient Chinese culture and history that seems to be to the true heart beat of this city. From standing in the middle of Tiannmen Square to metaphorically getting lost in the intricate architecture of The Forbidden City, I watched as Chinese locals flocked to these monuments, flags in hand, to show their national pride and celebrate their country’s history.

But among the ancient architecture, Beijing still remains a very modern city. While walking down the city’s main pedestrian mall, I was surrounded familiar faces: Zara, Nike, and even Chanel stopped by to say “hello.” It just showed that no matter where you are, there are some brands that span all languages, all continents, and all cultures.

I found this Fashionista on my journey in the shopping area. She looks plucked straight from that famous scene in “Pretty Woman” when Julia Roberts is shopping on Rodeo Drive. It’s a throwback to the good old age when girls were ladies. Maybe it’s a little over the top. But it’s definitely a fashionable look nonetheless. It made me want to start wearing lace gloves while shopping for groceries and maybe I just may start doing so when I head back to the states. So, my advice to you, follow this Fashionista and don’t be afraid to be a lady.
