There is something to be admired about people who are creative and bold enough to wear certain pieces year round. One of the saddest says of the year is when I unlatch my dresses off of their hangers and replace them with blouses and blazers. Trying to make dresses work in colder weather is something I have never mastered, yet after seeing this inspiring Fashionista, trying again is definitely not out of the question.
She looks spunky and fresh with her bright floral dress, which she paired with a more subdued black blazer. She pairs the outfit with a basic pair of black tights and studded black flats with a tassel finish. For a bag, she opts for a slouchy black leather one with silver studs, making for a trendy and practical finish to the overall look. To mock this outfit, try a dress such as this darling tulip one from ASOS. Pair it with a simple black blazer that resembles those by Ann Taylor. Almost identical flats can be found at Dolce Vita for Target. This scrilla studded tote bag by Matt and Nat works perfectly to finish the look and give it a punky edge.
Hint: Make heads turn this week by resurrecting a dress from your summer wardrobe paired with wintery items. I love a velvet blazer with a bright dress. Nothing says “in your face cold weather” quite like it.
