With Labor Day serving as the official holiday mark implying that summer is over, it is important to leave the season behind with a final homage to your beloved summer staples. As much as the cliché fashion rule of, "No white after Labor Day" applies, flirty and poppy summer shades like coral and lemon are also applicable to some extent. These colors become harder to wear as an entire look once fall is in full force (especially without our sun kissed skin as a backdrop).
This Fashionista is ending the dog days right as she is donning a coral scoopneck knee length dress with a practical cap sleeve and flattering empire waist. She adds uniform to the look by cinching the waist with a woven elastic hemp mixed with leather brown belt. I prefer this style of bigger belts, as they sit nicely on the hips and compliment the figure better than skinnier shorter belts. Similar to this Fashionistas, I recently purchased this fab elastic belt from the ever trusty Forever 21 and have been pairing it with everything from oversized blouses to bright summer dresses of my own. To get a look that completely emulates hers, try this short sleeve dress by Voom.
Hint: Even if you may ditch bold colored dresses in the months to come, you can still incorporate great colors as accents within your outfits. I love taking a simple long sleeve T-shirt in a shade like yellow and wearing it under a black or navy blazer with leggings and boots. I also like colorful tights with simple dark toned dresses, such as these from American Apparel.
