When I decided to use florals as my trend for this week, Miranda Priestly’s voice from the Devil Wears Prada automatically droned in my ear. “Florals? For spring? Ground breaking.” Obviously florals are never anything new for this time of year but the reason they are so timeless is because they are girly and fresh. This Fashionista’s dress especially stuck out to me because the florals have a black background as opposed to a lighter color and the ruffled details. The thin brown belt was a nice touch too. Florals can sometimes be constructed in a prairie or “got that fabric from my couch” sort of way but when you find a nice floral print that has been femininely constructed you are given a classic look. I really like floral prints because they get me in touch with my feminine side without going overboard. I challenge you to find simple floral patterns, like this one, and add your own touch to the outfit to really make the trend work. I suggest the Lucca Couture Chiffon Printed Drape Skirt or the Va Va Bloom Dress.
