One of my personal favorite fashion pursuits is always vintage shopping. There’s just something so enticing about hunting for that one-off coveted piece that would undoubtedly complete your wardrobe forever (or this weekend at least). So you can understand my joy in stumbling across the latest addition to Newcastle’s eclectic mix of vintage destinations – Yellow Jelly. They also have an ebay store if you’re not in the city.
This week, I spotted this Fashionista rolling into work there in this amazing outfit. Just the right mix of high street and vintage, its an easy way to rock vintage pieces without freezing to death in a tea dress this winter. The look is so easy to recreate, choose one vintage piece, in this case the classic lace shirt is a winner, and keep the rest simple and timeless with black and layered jewelery. For your own shirt, hit the vintage rails and get scouring, or check out this high street lookalike. With shorter days, longer nights and lower temperatures, its too easy to fall into your favorite cashmere sweater this time of year, and stay there until oh I don’t know, February? But fight the temptation and have fun with your look. Think layering. Add a leather jacket. It’s wrapping up warm, vintage style.
Hint: This Fashionista is also wearing an amazing selection of jewelery! Layer pendants and collect kooky charms to attach to chains to improvise your own look. They also make great personalized gifts for friends and family with the holiday season upon us!
Style On,
Natalie
