TREND: Huntin’ out the Storm

Let’s be honest – Boston has been having some gross weather lately. Snowstorms, slush and dirt-ridden streets, and despicable winds all add up to equal one thing: cranky, lazy students. So it’s no surprise to see almost everyone bundled up in his or her North Faces and trekking up and down Comm. Ave in their UGGs. Don’t get me wrong, staying warm is essential, but why not stay warm and fashionable?

This Fashionista does just that. Instead of resorting to her tired old UGGs, she confidently treks out in her Hunter Boots. Hunters might not be the most stylish boots out there, but they’re pretty handy in the snow and come in a variety of designs and colors. Whether you wear the Regent, the Huntress or the Originals, they all provide three essential elements: comfort, a waterproof function, and a non-slip grip. Not to mention the different ways you can coordinate your look with their array of socks. Fleece, cable cuff, striped cuff, or animal print – the combinations are endless.

Despite the freezing arctic weather, this Fashionista opts to dress as she usually does. She keeps it casual with her long navy jacket layered with a grey cardigan sweater and a comfy striped T-shirt. This navy jacket by Marc New York, which can be purchased at Nordstrom, is a great choice if you want a similar look. Although this Fashionista chooses to wear grey, this ivory ruffled cardigan from Free People might spice up your outfit with a brighter color and fancier design. Topping off your outfit with an heirloom pendant necklace, similar to what this Fashionista did, would definitely finish your look with perfection.

The weather is a force that can’t be stopped. What can be stopped though is your choice in wearing sweats and oversized hoodies. So don’t let the weather stop you from being your fabulous self and, if all else fails, just "Hunt" it out.
