Research and studies have shown that wearing bright colors can improve your mood. I agree with this, which is why I love to wear my bright yellow Ella Moss tunic when I need a boost, and why I fight gray, gross, rainy days with my bright green frog rainboots. This Fashionista was spotted with her sunny disposition and great outfit just outside the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. I love how she personalizes this vivid yellow dress with boho accents: numerous wooden and metal bracelets, a red flower in her hair, dangly earrings, a wide brown leather belt at the waist, brown thong sandals, and a unique pin on her dress. The whole look from head to toe makes her look approachable and friendly; a perfect vibe for back to school!
Now think, is there a particular color that is your personal favorite? Why not wear it boldly in a bright color, paint your nails with it, or accessorize with a scarf or bag? My favorite color is pink, so I have a pink backpack, laptop, and cell phone! If you want your color to REALLY pop then pair it with its complement, or opposite color on the color wheel (such as red and green, blue and orange, purple and yellow, etc.) If you want to wear a few colors that are similar hues in the same color family, then analogous color combinations should be your choice (using colors that are next to each other on the color wheel). Most importantly, have fun! Wear whatever bright colors you are drawn to and mix it with pizzazz.
