TREND: Lace

A recent trend that is perfect for spring is lace. It’s feminine, sweet, and light; a great way to start off the new season. Our Fashionista was spotted in downtown SoHo, sporting the look with a cropped, loose button down and a leather skirt. I love her color combination of camel, white, and black. The more neutral and serious colors calm down the girlyness of the lace. Sometimes lace can be overpowering in its “girly” factor, so wear it with something slightly more masculine or sporty to have a chic balance.

Lace has really hit a lot of stores, so your options are endless! American Apparel has many options like this one, and Urban Outfitters also has some elegant options here. Also, lace doesn’t have to be completely see-through like this Topshop top.

Hint: If you don’t feel comfortable wearing lace because of its transparency, wear a tube top or a tank top under it. You can also wear a cardigan over it or a cropped top! Be creative!

TREND: Lace

With Memorial Day around the corner, it’s almost time when wearing white is “acceptable” again. Although everyone may not follow that rule, a way to surpass it is to wear cream. With the influx of lace this season, I am loving the combo of lace and cream. This Fashionista walked to class in the beautiful weather that has hit Bloomington, in a cream lace top. Not only is this trend perfect when see on dresses and tops, but some of my favorite shoes designers have been showcasing lace detailing on their spring ballet flats.
