TREND: Layer it Up

Start simple. Throw on a comfortable, yet savvy pair of skinny black jeans. Add a cute, flowy, silk top and maybe your favorite complemented tint of orange or pink lipstick. To give a bit of spice, wrap a cute headscarf around your neck, and put on a pair of comfy clogs. The final piece is that perfect sized tote, which fits all of your laptop, iPod, and books for the day. In seconds, you've put together an adorable look for fall by adding a bit of spice to a classic look. This Fashionista exemplifies the perfect display of chic, yet suitable for class attire. Fall is the perfect season to bust out all of your layers, and I love how this Fashionista is wearing dark shades and a light blouse for the sun, but layers with a warm scarf for the wind. I know that some Fashionista's are afraid to rock heels on their way to class, but this Fashionista shows that with the right outfit, heels are possible! She looks adorable, comfortable and carefree.

With the truly unpredictable weather these past few weeks, it's important to always be prepared with an extra scarf or sweater. Adding these little pieces may seem like a small adjustment, but with the right prints, you can up your style immensely. A chic scarf is usually what I find myself grabbing on the way to class, but a cute, draped vest also always does the trick. And don't be afraid of wrapping the scarf, or belting the vest in your own fashion!

Hint: This week, invest in a piece that you wouldn't generally find in your closet. Go beyond the basics and find a layered piece with a cool design or sparkle. It's a great way of looking that more adorable in this transitional weather!
