TREND: Minimalist Sass

Whenever I think of the word "jumper", I am reminded of those tight, polka-dot and floral print onesies my mom used to dress me in throughout elementary school (back when i was 50 pounds without a curve in sight). That look has changed, thank goodness, for my sake, and probably yours. Jumpers have been reinvented recently in the most chic, flattering and comfortable way possible. Some have buttons, some have zippers, and some you can just slip right into. All are practical and designed for comfort — sounds like my kind of clothing. Whether you're heading to the farmers market, going out for a night on the town or meeting up with friends for sushi, a jumpsuit will get you through the weekend looking fashionable without any fuss.

On an afternoon shopping trip downtown, I spotted this Fashionista working at one of Iowa City's unique boutiques and donning one of their most recent items. This romper is the perfect example of what I mentioned earlier. Flattering, comfortable and chic. Neutrals are hot right now, and this midnight taupe shade is perfect for the warm summer months and will transition well into the fall. I love that this Fashionista added a pop of color to her neutral outfit with her red, cutout wedges. She kept her accessories minimal with her round frame glasses and a simple gold watch.

For a neutral look similar to this Fashionista's, try this gray sleeveless jumper. Pair it with a pair of leopard pumps and a colorful clutch. If you're a more colorful of a dresser, try this mustard yellow romper. Pair it with more neutral shoes and accessories to balance out the bold color.

Hint: A great way to define your waist in jumpsuit is to belt it. You can either buy an already belted jumpsuit or try this brown braided belt which will match well with most colors.
