Back-to-school style means tweaking the wardrobe a little bit. Not only are we making the move from summer to fall, but we're also taking our easy, breezy and relaxed vacation style up a notch towards a style that's a little more dressed up, and more appropriate for our campus runways.
I really enjoy accessories and appreciate how the smaller details can change the whole look of an outift. This week's Fashionista uses the neckerchief as a preppy, but feminine accent to her classic blouse and skirt ensemble.
Scarves have been a wildly popular accessory for the past few years, and have found their way into the wardrobes of all Fashionistas and Fashionistos. The neckerchief is a smaller, shorter, and slightly more old-school variation of the scarf, and adds a slightly more feminine and formal touch than the regular silk scarf, which makes it a perfect addition to our back-to-school outfits. These pieces from Alexander McQueen come in a variety of bright and bold prints which are sure to complement any top. Sometimes they look even better when the prints clash a bit!
Hint: Neckerchiefs are clasically worn tied tight around the neck, but feel free to go for a looser know for a more laid-back look!
