TREND: Preppy With A Twist

The sun is out, the snow is gone, and it is time to unpack your shorts! Leave your jacket at home and grab some shades because with these rays you might actually get a tan, or in my case a burn, on your way to class!

Coming to Boston from laid-back California, the preppy style was something I definitely had to get used to, but this week’s Fashionista does preppy in a way that is easy to emulate and a sure way to confidently try out a new style if preppy isn’t quite your thing. Her classic white button down blouse and high wasted denim shorts not only look stylish together but also are great staple pieces for your wardrobe that can be worn in a variety of ways and with a number of different outfits. This ensemble is cute and sophisticated so it is a great outfit to wear around campus, but also one that could be worn to a casual lunch on Newbury or even to the Museum of Fine Arts for a day of sightseeing.

Looking to add a little sophistication to your look with some preppy pieces? To get the same look as this Fashionista, try this Silk Epaulet Blouse with these cute High Waist Herringbone Shorts. I guarantee you will wear these shorts all summer long, and at such a good price how could you say no! Every preppy Fashionista needs a pair of great white shorts. Try these linen deck shorts with a Silk Blythe blouse in either fresh apricot or olive moss to get a preppy feel with a bit more color. This Shakuhachi Luxe Utility Cutoff Top is also a great option for a Fashionista who wants this Fashionista's look, but with a little added flair and spunk. Finish your look off with a chic accessory like this Mini crystal supernova necklace and you will be good to go! Channel this week’s Fashionista and add a little prep to your step the next time you can’t figure out what to wear!
