TREND: Whimsical Wardrobe

There is nothing I love more than the first chill that tells us it is officially fall. Not only does it signal that a new season is officially upon us, but it also gives us the official go ahead to start to transition into a new wardrobe mindset and pair pieces together that we haven't since last year, incorporating new trends in all the while. All around campus this week, I saw the skirts getting longer and the cutoff shirts turning into jeans as people begin bracing themselves for the air to come. Pairings of  great oversized black and brown canvas bags topped off with vintage Doc Marten style shoes or the super trendy leather lace-up ankle boot also infiltrated the streets on my walks to class, giving me a big smile in anticipation of what is to come.

I spotted this Fashionista sporting an extremely put together look that to me looks like the perfect combination between urban chic mixed with her own fresh and individual  take on ethereal and soft colors and silhouettes. She pairs an airy and simple dusty rose standard tee with a pale blue/grey corduroy pant. You can find similar ones here by Anthropologie. She adds function to the outfit with standard brown ankle boots by Clarks and adds a double-buckle canvas messenger bag by Urban Outfitters, similar to this one.

Hint: When playing with top and bottom pairings, substitute a skinny leg for a rolled up boyfriend jean, such as these by Levi's. Nothing says casual and effortlessly cool quite like them.
