TREND: White Winter

No white after Labor Day? That mindset is so passé. White for winter is fresh this season. It brightens up any outfit. Even though it hasn’t snowed much this holiday season in Boston, a jacket in this shade will make Christmas seem white no matter what.

This Fashionista looks cozy and stylish in her white jacket of choice. It is sporty and quilted, with a cinched-in waist and adorable toggle closures. Not to mention, her fur trimmed hood is so 2011. She keeps her ensemble basic and sharp with dark skinny jeans and black leather boots. Accessorized with a warm plaid scarf and a wrist full of gold bangles, she looks classy for class.

Here are a couple more similar options:

1. The Andrew Marc Puffer Jacket with Coyote Fur Hood
2. The Burberry Brit Tie-Waist Puffer Jacket

If you're not so into the sporty vibe or are not quite feeling such a bright white hue, try donning something more streamlined in ivory or cream. J. Crew has dubbed the off-white color of their Double-Cloth Bonbon Coat “sea salt”. This tailored coat would look great with basic jeans and boots (like those pictured on our Fashionista), but it would also work in a more professional setting. Giving a presentation for your SMG class? Throw this jacket on over a pair of chic knit houndstooth pants and a gauzy blouse and you’re ready to go. For some edge, throw on a chunky statement necklace and black patent-leather pumps.

Go ahead and rock white this season. Because, who doesn’t want a white winter?
