WEEKEND FORECAST: Color My World

With these dreary winter days one after another, it’s great to see people working bright colors into their wardrobe. It was so refreshing to see this Fashionista strutting her stuff in a bold turquoise jacket.  In the fashion world, bright colors and patterns are usually associated with one season: spring.  On many of the runways for the upcoming spring season, designers were playing with fun colors in their brightest and most saturated hues. Take a look at the Prada and Marc Jacobs spring runways.

This Fashionista proves that bold colors work just as well in the winter. Her turquoise jacket stands out against her white scarf, neutral sweater and black boots. Take this time to accent your outfits with electric color. Designers have been showing ensembles in head-to-toe color for this coming spring, mixing blue and orange with purple and yellow–anything goes. There are so many colors; the pairing possibilities are endless. For the winter season, though, I would suggest pulling in color through accent pieces like jackets, scarves, or sweaters. This Fashionista proves that brights look best with black, but I also suggest pairing your brights with the recent winter white trend. Take your colored pieces and pair them with black tights or on top of your favorite white sweater.

Hint: Take some inspiration from the runway to get guidance on how to mix and match different colors.  Style.com has a great trend report on ‘Hyper Color’; check it out!
