WEEKEND FORECAST: From Day to Night

With winter approaching, it gets easier and easier to dress for consistently cold weather. Instead of switching out of outfits mid-day, Fashionistos and Fashionistas everywhere are dressing in clothing that they can wear to transition from day to night. I spotted this Fashionista strutting to class down 21st Street. She was wearing a simple, low-cut black sweater over a white camisole, black skinny jeans, and some amazing black leather stiletto boots with gold finishings. She also donned a perfectly proportioned cropped khaki trench coat with oversized lapels and matching black buttons. I like this one from MNG by MANGO. Her sleek and chic black outfit paired with the trench is a great option for going from day to night. Wearing a trench to class or work is appropriately professional and can be taken off when going out after a long day. Her final accessory was a strand of scattered pearl clusters on a gold chain. I like this autumn jewels necklace from Urban Outfitters. One great technique is to wear a low hanging necklace, such as this one, and double-loop it to make it shorter. A necklace similar to this is also a great piece that any Fashionista can transition from day to night. This Fashionista chose to wear her hair up during the day, which could easily be let down as the day progressed.

What accessories do you have in your closet that could be paired with a simple neutral ensemble to smoothly make the day to night transition?
