WEEKEND FORECAST: Library Chic for Finals Week

With finals swiftly approaching, it becomes hard to find the time to worry about our appearance. It is often easier to just throw on a pair of sweats and a hoodie to stay comfortable during those long nights at the library. I spotted this Fashionista en route to GW’s prized Gelman Library to get in some last minute studying. What caught my attention was the bright contrast of her red books against her neutral attire. We don’t often think of textbooks in a positive light; however, this proves that even the most unexpected items can be the best accessories.

I loved how this Fashionista put a studious spin on the androgynous look that she pulls off so well. The neutral black, white and gray color scheme that she chose really ties all of the elements of this Fashionista’s outfit together. The thick stripe detailing on her Lacoste Toronto Collection cardigan goes great with the thinner stripe detailing on her Burberry scarf. Wearing a simple white V-neck with a cardigan or sweater and some skinny black jeans is a great way to stay fashionably simple and comfortable at the same time. It also allows you to be prepared to add/remove layers if the heat or air kicks on in the library. This Fashionista’s original Keds shoes also provide a sylish yet comfortable choice. She completed her ensemble with a pair of thick rimmed glasses, simple silver jewelry and a smaller side satchel.

Take a page out of this Fashionista’s book: looking smart is being smart.
