Love it or hate it, swimsuit season is officially here! Like most people, the first thing I look for when trying on swimwear is fit and comfort. Bottoms should be tight enough to stay in place in an ocean wave or dive into a pool, but also be loose enough to not create an awkward silhouette. After covering the basic fit, I look for a suit that is adequately lined, no one wants a swimsuit to get wet and be sheer!
This summer, take it past basic fit and fabric by choosing suits that are "off-the-beaten-path". I have seen countless suits from Victoria's Secret, and while those suits are great, everyone has them. For a more original look, choose suits with detailing that reflect trends that are popular this year. Mara Hoffman designed a full line of bikinis, one-pieces and coverups that feature tribal prints in bold color palettes, sexy braided straps on bikini bottoms and straps, and fringe tops, which are pictured. Another trend to try this summer? Zippers. Robert Piccone designed a full zip-front black bandeau top that will look great paired with any of your favorite bottoms. If you're feeling fearless, slip on one of these Maaji Swimwear suits. The mixed prints are eye-catching and the ruffles and embellishments are flirty and unique.
So Fashionistas, go off the deep end this summer and have fun with fashionable swimwear!
