WEEKEND FORECAST: To Beat the Heat, or Enjoy it While it Lasts?

Although I'm back in class and getting into the swing of college again, the D.C. weather still screams summer.  With forecasts of only sunshine and mid-90's temperatures, students are walking around campus in their summer wardrobe, and are not needing a sweater or jacket anytime soon. While some may hit the amazing museums D.C. has to offer this weekend, others may opt to stay outside and enjoy the warm weather while it's still around.

This Fashionista's outfit is one that contains many of my personal favorites. I'm a major fan of nautical stripes, and an even bigger fan of cut-off, jean shorts. This Fashionista's outfit is perfect for the current D.C. weather, and has a laidback and relaxed attitude that I love. This Fashionista is sporting a nautical striped tank and dark grey cut-off denim shorts, both courtesy of LF.  She is also wearing basic flip-flops from Havaiana, carrying an oversized leather hobo bag from Linea Pelle, and pulling the whole look together with dainty gold necklace.

Whether you decide to stroll along the Potomac River this weekend or go to the National Gallery or Corcoran to beat the heat, break out your summer styles for one more time because come mid-December, we'll all horribly miss the warm weather that we've been lucky enough to have this first week back at GWU.

Hint: Dainty, gold necklaces really are a great way to accessorize your warm-weather outfits without seeming too overdone. Pair a simple gold necklace with a nautical striped tank and denim shorts to re-do this absolutely fabulous (and easy) outfit while it's still warm!
