WHAT TO WEAR: Errands

It always seems that from the moment we come home from school we are inundated with parental requests and errands to run. Often times it is easy to fall into the habit of simply putting on something quick and easy for a day out running around. It is, however, very simple to put together a chic look, in which to run errands, while still beating the summer heat and maintaining comfort.

This Fashionista was able to do just that by combining a pair of simple, black, high-wasted shorts with a studded jean button-down. Her linen high-wasted shorts are a cool and classic alternative to throwing on a pair of jean or cotton shorts. The black shorts dress up the look, while still keeping you cool and comfortable as you drive or walk from one stop to the next.

Instead of pairing a boring T-shirt with the plain shorts, this Fashionista added a jean button-down, with studded accents on the shoulders to add a little more interest to the outfit. The studding on the shoulders of the jean button-down, adds dimension to this errand running look, while the open neckline and three-quarter sleeves are perfect for a sunny summer day.

When out running around there is no need to over do it with chunky or extravagant jewelry. By wearing understated bangles, this Fashionista maintains a casual look while adding femininity to contrast the studs on the denim button-down. Delicate rings also accentuate this look while not getting in the way as you move from one errand to the next.

Simple accessories, as well as classic color combinations and fabrics, allow this look to be both fashion and function.

One Simple Change: In order to take this look from a day running errands to a day spent with friends, add more ornate or colorful jewelry. A pop of color will stand out against the denim and black color combination and will surely be admired by all, when done correctly.
