WHAT TO WEAR: Internship

Term is over and summer has begun, but for those dedicated students out there, it means that it’s time for an internship. Of course internships can vary in length and can depend on the company, but normally it means you better smarten up your outfit and your attitude!

I’ve caught this Fashionista on a Friday, which is usually a dress-down day. However, you’ll always want to go for the smarter option if in doubt. This Fashionista has gone for a pink lace dress with lining and high neck. This makes it suitable for the workplace, but is still a great colour for this season and better than boring black.  Lace dresses are perfect for summer weddings and BBQs, making them a hit with high street stores every season such as New Look, Miss Selfridge and River Island.

At the moment I love oversized vintage denim jackets, whether it’s for a festival or thrown on over a dress they make any outfit look easy yet exciting. An oversized jacket is a key 90s trend that has come back this season and is looking to stay around until the next. This Fashionista’s is vintage however, you can get similar ones from Topshop or if you really want a vintage one check out ASOS Marketplace. It is like a never-ending chest full of hidden treasures! Although, once you’ve opened it be prepared to spend the next few hours glued to your laptop.

One Simple Change:To turn this internship outfit into a presentation outfit the change is simple. Keep the lace dress, but lose the denim jacket for a smart blazer and add a long necklace. Another suggestion would be to wear some smart pumps or even heels depending on how much you want to impress in the presentation!
