WHAT TO WEAR: Library

Summertime doesn’t always mean laying by the pool and hanging out with friends. For some, summer is also another semester of school work. That means, if you are laying out, you better have that philosophy textbook open, preparing for your next quiz. But, I don’t know how anyone can concentrate on their studies with a sparkling pool next to them. So, that means, head to the library to get those homework assignments checked off your to-do list, and then you can celebrate with a dip in the pool.

Heading to the library means cold, air conditioned rooms, so make sure to ditch the tank top and shorts while studying. I caught this Fashionista on campus in the perfect library attire. She picked a favorite pair of cropped jeans for comfort, like the Artist Crop Jean from American Eagle Outfitters, and matched them with a plain gray top. To accessorize, she chose a pale pink, lightweight scarf, similar to this one from Banana Republic. I suggest keeping your accessories fun and flirty, since you never know who you’ll run in to. She also added a pair of drop earrings to finalize her look. Since she had her hair pulled back, prepared to dive into her work, she needed a feminine piece to accentuate her features. Her earrings are similar to these Chain Fringe Earrings from Free People.

Now, don’t lock yourself in the library all day, but when you know you are going to be there for awhile, make sure to dress for the occasion. Be mindful of air conditioners and pull on a pair of jeans, rather than shorts or a dress. Trust me, even though the walk from your car will be a struggle in the heat, you’ll be thanking me in the long run.

One Simple Change: Easily transform this outfit to wear to meet your summer fling’s parents. Swap the jeans for a white mini and tuck in the gray top. Now, your outfit is easily ready for a dinner out or just a great first impression.
