WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

As I write this post, I bury my head in shame as I think about what my usual weekend attire consists of: sweats, a messy bun and no makeup. Sure, a messy bun can be chic and we have all sported the “no makeup, makeup” look whether we admit it or not, but trust me when I tell you that there is nothing glamorous about my weekend wear. But, can you really blame me? At the end of a long week of scorching hot weather, I would rather lounge around in a cotton V-neck instead of continuing to sweat in designer chiffon.

This Fashionista is considered dressed to the nines in comparison to my lazy weekend wardrobe. Okay, so maybe she’s not decked out in diamonds and pearls, but she is definitely head to toe perfection. Coco Chanel once said, “The best color in the whole world is the one that looks good on you.” Clearly, this Fashionista’s best color is black. By wearing such an overpowering statement color, there were no complements needed by means of accessories. This ensemble includes nearly every summer trend: the elongating maxi skirt, a tie dye print (a summertime classic), a revealing yet tasteful crop top, the always handy cross-body bag and the never out of style woven sandals. Not to mention the color combination of black and white is hotter than ever this season.

What truly won me over about this look was that it appears effortless. With a few basic pieces, a touch of minimalism and an overlying theme of simplicity, anyone could have as stylish a Saturday and Sunday as this Fashionista. She even has the naturally tousled hair for the perfect finishing touch to her authentic laid back get-up.

One Simple Change: Ready for date night? Add a statement necklace to this already flawless look and you’re ready to be wined and dined.
